Joker came to us in the fall of 1994. He was a fluffy blue teddy bear from the first litter sired by our Flash. He was a sweet boy, easy to live with and easy to train. Following in his dad's footsteps, he was soon doing 4-H with Natalie and adding to her pile of awards. I knew from the start that he was going to be slow to mature, but I had a feeling that he'd be worth the wait.

Joker didn't really fill out until he was about 3 years old. In August of 1997 he earned his first points, a 5 point major under judge Beverly Millette. He followed that with a couple of AKC and ASCA reserves. In July of 1998 Joker earned his second 5 point major going WD/BOW/BOS over specials under breeder judge Lori Acierto. The show was a memorable one as dad Flash finished his CD with a HITA. We also won a BOBP with our pup, and BJH for Natalie.

Work and other obligations kept us from the show ring for a while. We also moved and Natalie left home for school. She had put 2 CD legs on Joker before we moved, and I was able to get him out and finish his CD in 2001. I had just about given up hope of ever finishing him then in 2003, with Natalie back home we headed of to a CVASC show in February. Joker finished his ASCA Ch. with his third 5 point major under judge Kitty Steidel. He was just a couple months shy of his 9th birthday.

Joker would work sheep but we never got a chance to do more that just beginning trainig with him. He also trained in agility and showed talent. I will always regret that we didn't have the opportunity to do more with him.

Joker was a wonderful dog to show. He moved straight and true on a totally loose lead and was always happy to take his turn in the ring. One of our proudest moments with Joker was at the CVASC November 2005 show where at 11 1/2 years Joker won Best Veteran and beat out the Best Puppy, Best of Breed and Best Altered for BIS..

Joker sired 4 litters for us and produced some lovely pups. We have our Topper and Indy to carry on his line. Throughout his life he was my big teddy bear and my sweet clown.

When Flash passed away in April 2006, Joker was devastated. Though he would still play and give me his silly face, he just wasn't the same. He grieved Flash's loss right along with the rest of us. On September 22, 2006 Joker went to join his dad, passing peacefully in his sleep. He brought such joy and so much laughter to our lives and his passing leaves a huge empty spot in our hearts. I know that he found his dad waiting for him and they are together again. We'll miss you sweet boy
